A handsome Carlton Ware Lustre Pottery biscuit barrel / cookie jar, designed by Roger Michell and the pattern designed by Danka Napiorkowska in the 1970s. The rich green decoration is called Malachite after the semi-precious stone which it resembles. The decoration is enhanced by the excellent platinum lustre bands around the body of the pot and the lid's rim. The lid's finial is also finished in platinum lustre.
Bearing the semi-circular combined mark for Carlton Ware and Lustre Pottery dated 1978.
Fine condition with no damage or restoration.
