Clarice Cliff Bizarre Plate designed by Ernest Proctor - Sold

A Clarice Cliff Bizarre dinner plate with pale green ground decorated with a dancing couple in the foreground and a guitarist in the background in silver lustre, designed by Ernest Proctor. This plate is fully marked to the back with "DESIGNED BY Ernest Proctor PRODUCED BY Bizarre by Clarice Cliff WILKINSON ENGLAND COPYRIGHT RESERVED FIRST EDITION 1934".
It also bears an impressed mark for September 1934.
Condition is good with no damage or restoration. There is a little wear to the silver lustre wavy border at around "2 -o- clock". See image above.

A number of leading artists of the day were invited by Clarice Cliff to submit designs to be produced for the Clarice Cliff Bizarre range in the 1930s. Amongst these were (Dame) Laura Knight, John Armstrong and Ernest Proctor.
