Paragon China Dutch Children Design trio

A Paragon China trio, comprising a mug, saucer and bowl decorated with children dressed in traditional Dutch costume. The mug and saucer have the same design of a boy fishing, watched by another boy and a girl holding a rag doll, with the caption "WAIT AND SEE".
Condition is very good on this pair of items, which both bear the printed star mark and "PARAGON China ENGLAND".
The bowl bears a different design decorated with children in traditional Dutch costume. The girl walking her dog on a lead is watched by the two boys in a Dutch landscape with a windmill in the background, with the caption "LOVE ME LOVE M DOG".
Condition is good except for a strip of wear to part of the body of the bowl. The bowl although unmarked, is clearly part of the same series and with the same colour border edging.

These pieces emulate the fashion for children's china made by firms like Royal Bayreuth and other German factories which were decorated with children dressed in Dutch costume and which were prevalent just prior to the 1st World War (see some examples in our "Sold Archive" for the Children's China catagory).
